photos, the new security hole
Last weekend was recorded Facebook malware attack employing a technique that had hitherto not been used by cybercriminals: The photo taggeo .
with a claim similar to many other 'virus' spread over the network in recent months, saying Want to know how long you've wasted on Facebook? (ie, similar to Want to see who visited your profile?) are tagged them with thousands of users to a photo, although they did not appear there. In turn, they tagged them automatically to their contacts, and thus spread the attack.
The damage from this attack were not bothersome, not to steal passwords or suffer some serious consequences like that, but they open the door to the spread of threats and attacks scam, which was forwarded by the users themselves filling profiles and information junk bonds.
But the problem goes away, because it exposes security holes in Facebook photos. In AllFacebook blame for this problem to the inability Facebook exists to prevent you Tagger in the photos. When designing your own you can select which of your friends when you upload an image is not to suggest your name default, but you can not prevent you taggee.
This inability to eliminate the taggeos have used this weekend for the distrubution of malware. If Facebook offered the possibility not only avoid these threats, but many users would breathe a sigh of relief at not having to go 'destaggeandose' hand of the photos up some of his friends.
